Don’t Miss the July DDM Seminar: Don't Dis My Ability

DEIA DDM 2023 Diverse Silhouettes

The Deputy Director for Management (DDM) Seminar Series offers the NIH community engaging presentations that provide meaningful insights into leadership and management concepts, challenges, and solutions.

The upcoming DDM session, "Don’t Dis My Ability," is one not to be missed. The presenter, Albert J. Rizzi, received his B.A. from Manhattanville College and has dual M.S. degrees from St. John’s University in education—one in early childhood and the other in administration and supervision. In 2006, Mr. Rizzi unexpectedly and completely lost his eyesight. He became an activist and advocate for the blind and visually impaired, providing education, building awareness, and working to achieve the development and dissemination of assistive technologies.

We hope you will join the last DDM seminar of FY23!  For details and to register, visit the DDM Seminar Series website. As a reminder, if you missed any of our outstanding speakers, you can find their recorded videocast through our past seminars page.

Auditors in Your NIHTC Classes

NIH Training Center photo of class being taught

The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) is dedicated to delivering outstanding learning experiences. We know how important it is for employees to receive relevant, accurate, and meaningful information. Typically, employees attend NIHTC classes to become proficient in their roles at the NIH. For that reason, NIHTC conducts cyclical audits of current classes by both training specialists and subject matter experts, even for popular courses that have been in demand for years.

The current Class Audit Program started in January 2023 and will continue throughout the calendar year. NIHTC training experts attend and evaluate class instructors and course content. Auditors take notes and offer recommendations to enhance and improve classes. After each audit, NIHTC program managers and class instructors discuss the findings and determine if revisions are needed. If so, the changes are incorporated immediately. The audit process is a best practice in the training industry and helps ensure we are providing top-quality training courses to the NIH community.
