There are two types of scientific careers at the NIH - scientific administrative and scientist-researcher positions.
- Scientific administration are positions outside the lab. Responsibilities may include administering grants for research, managing science programs, and advising on cutting edge resources.
- Scientists-research are positions that may involve lab work and/or direct patient care activities. Positions include nurses, physicians, data scientists, and clinical and basic researchers.
Additionally, the NIH supports the next generation of scientists. We fund thousands of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows across the United States. Visit Scientific Fellowships and Trainees to learn more.
If you have a scientific position at the NIH that you would like advertised on this page, please contact Mitzi Kosciulek at firstname.lastname@example.org or (301) 594-2157.
