Don’t Miss the July DDM Seminar: Don't Dis My Ability

The Deputy Director for Management (DDM) Seminar Series offers the NIH community engaging presentations that provide meaningful insights into leadership and management concepts, challenges, and solutions.

The upcoming DDM session, "Don’t Dis My Ability," is one not to be missed. The presenter, Albert J. Rizzi, received his B.A. from Manhattanville College and has dual M.S. degrees from St. John’s University in education—one in early childhood and the other in administration and supervision. In 2006, Mr. Rizzi unexpectedly and completely lost his eyesight. He became an activist and advocate for the blind and visually impaired, providing education, building awareness, and working to achieve the development and dissemination of assistive technologies.

Countdown to the Acquisition Recertification Deadline

Acquisition workforce professionals who hold a Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting (FAC‑C), Contracting Officer’s Representative (FAC‑COR), or Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) have until April 30, 2024, to obtain continuous learning points (CLPs) to maintain their certification.

The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) offers a selection of acquisition classes that offer CLPs participants can apply towards their continuous learning requirements. Click on a class title to register. Some classes fill quickly and those with only one offering remaining in FY23 are noted below with an asterisk(*).

Please check the Office of Acquisition and Logistics Management’s website for the latest policy updates on recertification or the Federal Acquisition Institute’s (FAI's) FAQs for information about certifications. CLPs earned from NIHTC acquisition classes should be submitted in FAI Cornerstone OnDemand (FAI CSOD). Log into the HHS Learning Management System to download and save your certificate of completion to upload to CSOD.

Come One, Come All: Soft Skills September Course Registration is Underway

Registration is open for the NIH Training Center’s (NIHTC's) annual Soft Skills September training blitz. Each year, we devote the entire month to soft skills because we recognize how essential they are to perform your job successfully. An added bonus—several of these courses will return to in-person delivery at our White Flint location.

NIH Executive Leadership Program 2022-2023 Cohort Graduates

Congratulations to the latest cohort to complete the NIH Executive Leadership Program (ExLP)! This group joins the ranks of over 160 senior leaders to experience the ExLP journey. During the seven-month program, participants attended several training sessions at the Partnership for Public Service, participated in IC-hosted seminars, visited Capitol Hill, met with current “Top 6” leaders, and participated in a leadership Q&A with the NIH Acting Director, among other activities.
