Budget and Data Skills Courses

The NIH Training Center offers several hands-on budget training courses. The 1.5 day NIH Federal Budget course is focused on budget operations and systems and is highly recommended for Budget Analysts/ Managers and Administrative Officers who would like to learn the basic of the federal budget process. The half-day course is geared more toward the scientific community, providing a general overview of budget planning to include a review of budgetary terms and a discussion on fiscal year close out procedures.

Our several Data Analysis and Visualization trainings focus on using quantitative tools and techniques to analyze, interpret, utilize, and present data in a comprehensive and compelling way.

Data Analysis Essentials

This intermediate level 2-day course is designed for those who have a basic familiarity with MS Excel and want to develop their ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently.

Introduction to the NIH Budget Process

Course ID: NIHTC5260

This one and half day course is designed for new Administrative Officers, Budget Analysts, and Administrative Lab Managers. It provides an overview of the NIH federal budget process, operations and systems, and key management roles.

Class Registration Process

When you register for a class, you will be automatically placed on a waiting list. A message "No Seats Available" will appear. Select YES, Continue Registration. Once the course is approved by your manager and final approver, you will successfully be registered if a seat is available.
