World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10

Stop Suicide logo

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed on September 10 every year to raise awareness, focus efforts on directing treatment to those who need it most, and remember those affected by suicide. In honor of this event, wear yellow on September 10th and post your picture on Yammer and/or Wellness@NIH Facebook Page using hashtag #SPM23 and #BeThere to demonstrate your support for suicide prevention awareness.

Our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling. We can play a role in supporting those experiencing a suicidal crisis or those bereaved by suicide. If you notice warning signs of suicide, contact the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 988 and/or the NIH Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
