Recruitment Information

MI Logo

The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) is recruiting a few outstanding NIH employees to participate in the NIH Management Intern (MI) Program. The competitive two-year MI Program, established in 1957, has a rich history in developing future professionals and leaders. As an MI, you will gain insight into administrative career opportunities and develop a robust professional network of colleagues by rotating across the NIH.

The MI Program vacancy announcement will be posted on USAJOBS in March 2023. Join the MI Recruitment Information listserv if you would like to be notified when the vacancy announcement is available.

For more information, visit the NIH MI Program website.

Rotational Work

Rotational Opportunities

The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) hosts a SharePoint site to enable ICs to post rotational opportunities for the NIH Management Interns (MI) and the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF). These two-year programs are highly competitive and attract the best and the brightest candidates into public service. NIH MIs and PMFs work across the entire NIH on 3 to 4-month rotations in a broad range of administrative areas, including budget and finance, grants management, contracts management, human resources, and as management/program analysts.

Rotational opportunities provide on-the-job training with exposure to senior leadership and help MIs/PMFs complete program requirements. Share your rotational opportunities on the NIH MI/PMF Rotation Opportunities SharePoint site.
