NIAID in 2003; various management positions, including Deputy Director, Office of Acquisitions; responsible for acquisition policy and operations, training, and the Purchase Card Program while providing key leadership and advice in research and development (R&D) contracting, facilities contracting, and simplified acquisitions.

Director of the Office of Acquisitions, at the NICHD since 2010; responsible for planning and directing all NICHD OA operations, as well as managing the R&D, Station Support, and Simplified Acquisition Contracting Programs for the NICHD and five other NIH Institutes and Centers. Acting NICHD Deputy Executive Officer; supported in all administrative matters in the management and operations of the NICHD and its $2 billion budget.

Coordinated HR efforts among the various divisions, created and implemented policy NICHD-wide, co-chaired the ‘Strategic Plan Innovative Culture’ Working Group for fostering an innovative culture across the NICHD, set up training sessions for staff members on current topics of interest, and led efforts to streamline and automate processes such as travel, tuition reimbursement, property management, and onboarding of personnel during COVID-19.

• Co-Chaired the White House OSTP NSTC’s Interagency Working Group on Open Science, shaping government-wide activities in open science and data management and sharing, including Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research.
