Important Information from the NIH Training Center
The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) is pleased to announce that we are now running several acquisitions, administrative systems, and supervisory training classes to allow NIH staff to meet mandatory requirements to fulfill their job roles. Visit the Training Insights page to see the classes that are currently running. All other FY25 classes are available for registration but will only proceed if the Training Center receives approval and has capacity to run them. Contact NIHTrainingCenter@nih.gov with questions.
In this one-day class, participants will learn the three dimensions of professional writing: organization, format, and style. Using the Business Writers Handbook, you will become familiar with the generally accepted principles governing day-to-day correspondence. The instructor will focus on letters and memos, reports, and executive summaries.
- Improve your writing skills by applying plain English principles, such as writing in the active voice
- Discuss how to manage the writing and editing process when working with a team of contributors
- Learn how to manage writing projects using style guides and putting plain language into practice
