Three Weeks Before Class: Withdraw or Substitute
Students may withdraw from an NIH Training Center (NIHTC) class up to three weeks before the start date without any cancellation fees. For example, if class is scheduled to be conducted on May 26, the last day to withdraw without any cancellation fee is May 4. Students must drop the class through the LMS before the deadline. Review the step-by-step instructions in the LMS Resources Guide.
Two Weeks Before Class: Reschedule
Students may request to reschedule from an NIHTC class up to two weeks before the start date without any cancellation fees if another session of that class is available. For example, if class is scheduled to be conducted on May 26, the last day to reschedule without any cancellation fee by rescheduling to another available session is May 11. Any requests submitted after this deadline will not be processed and your IC will be charged the full tuition. Review the step-by-step instructions in the LMS Resources Guide.
Less than Two Weeks Before Class
Cancellations received after the two- or three-week cancellation/reschedule deadlines will not be honored, and the student’s IC will be charged the full tuition rate for the class. If students withdraw during the class, their training history will reflect "Unsuccessful”, and their IC will be charged the full tuition amount.
In case of illness or another emergency, exceptions to the above guidelines are on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the NIHTC.

NIH Training Center Cancellation/Reschedule
The NIH Training Center may cancel a class due to low enrollment or government closures and/or delays. Notice will be provided with the option to reschedule for a future class or to receive a full refund. If the class is rescheduled, it is assumed the student remains approved to attend. Managers will not receive an updated notification and it is the student's responsibility to inform their manager.
Student No Show
Students who are “No Shows” to one-day training classes incur the full cost of tuition. Additionally, “No Shows” to multi-day training classes incur the full cost of tuition and students will must re-register for a future class to make-up missed days.
Thank you for your cooperation in complying with the NIH Training Center Student Cancellation Guidelines.
