Professional Accomplishments
- Co-led the launch of NIH’s flagship Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) initiative.
- Supported COVID-19 research by playing a key role in the concept development and launch of the NIH Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL), and co-led policy and ethics efforts for COVID-19 resources and data.
- Led NLM’s policy and legislative activities that promoted responsible stewardship and access to scientific and clinical data and information, and health information technology.
- Co-Chaired the White House OSTP NSTC’s Interagency Working Group on Open Science, shaping government-wide activities in open science and data management and sharing, including Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research.
- Led, developed, and implemented the NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy, the NIH HeLa Genome Sequence Data Sharing and Access Policy, and the NIH Public Access Plan, as well as NIH’s activities to develop a new data management and sharing policy.
