Open Enrollment for the 2025 NIH Leave Bank membership year is currently underway and will end on December 9, 2024. Protecting your paycheck while helping others has never been this easy, so don’t miss this final opportunity!
Should you join? Ask our recipients:
“My family and I were very grateful the NIH Leave Bank existed when I needed it the most. I think the NIH Leave Bank is an important program to assist NIH employees during medical emergencies.” —Leave Bank Recipient
“The Leave Bank leave hours have really saved me and allowed me to undergo my cancer treatment without having to worry about losing my job! It indeed has been a life saver for me and my family!” —Leave Bank Recipient
The Leave Bank provides a pool of leave which members can draw from during a personal or family medical emergency.
If you are currently a 2024 Leave Bank member, your membership will automatically continue into 2025 and you should not take any action to reenroll in ITAS. If you are not a 2024 member, you may elect to become a 2025 member by accessing ITAS during the Open Enrollment and enrolling under “Leave Bank Membership” in ITAS.
If you are a current member and do not wish to continue your membership into 2025, you may choose to opt-out in ITAS during Open Enrollment.
For each membership year, there is a membership contribution requirement of ONE pay period’s annual leave accrual. The membership contribution will deduct from your 2025 carryover leave, not your 2024 Use-or-Lose hours. The membership contribution will automatically be waived if you lack sufficient leave.
