If you are briefly unable to work because of your injury, you should keep your supervisor informed about your medical condition and return to work as soon as your physician permits.
If possible, have a discussion with your supervisor about the availability of light-duty work assignments that you may be able to do during your rehabilitation and recovery period. Your supervisor will be responsible for working with you to find appropriate duties that you can perform within the boundaries of your injury.
It is your responsibility to return to regular duty at your work station as soon as you are able to. You should avoid activities while on workers' compensation that might aggravate the injury/condition causing a delay with your return to work.
