Course Number

This one-day course identifies and explores statutes and regulations that govern the creation, allocation and preservation of intellectual property rights under government contracts. Real world examples -- fact patterns, negotiating positions and contract clauses highlight the operation of the rules are highlighted with the goal of
developing responses that reflect defensible applications of specific legal requirements.

  • Discussion of patents under government contracts and the government’s authority to authorize patent infringement, copyright and trademark law under government contracts as well as a review of trade secrets, technical data rights and computer software data rights.
  • Exploration of intellectual property rights under commercial item contracts and practical exercised based on actual licensing agreements
