This course is intended for new program and project management professionals, Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) and other acquisition officials. This class and can be applied towards earning The Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) or as CLPs for acquisition officials. The course addresses the principles, methods and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating and managing projects and resources. Students will examine how to monitor and inspect costs, work and contractor performance. Completion of the Introduction to Project Management class is recommended but not mandatory.

  • Outline the process for building a viable business case containing both qualitative and quantitative decision criteria
  • Describe key concepts relating to cost estimating & the federal budgeting process
  • Learn key elements of allocation of funds and appropriations related to earned value management (EVM)
  • Analyze various performance measures as a means of managing a program & create action plans
