Summary

This position is located in the Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Office (TTIPO), Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO), Office of the Director (OD), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Duties

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the operations of the assigned Branch, and for contributing, with other members of the senior TTIPO leadership team, to strategic planning for the Office.
  • Assign work through FTE Team Leaders to Branch FTE staff based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of Branch FTE staff.
  • Find and implement ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, or improve the efficiency of Branch operations and increase the overall effectiveness and productivity of the Branch.
  • Provide feedback on the analysis, and interpretation of technical, legal, business, and/or financial data on cumulative, current, and projected program activities, including NIAID's inventions, patents, licenses, and other transactional agreements.
  • Participate with TTIPO Director, Deputy Director, and other Branch Chiefs in strategic planning to ensure the ability to adapt to changing priorities, emerging requirements for patent and licensing services, and continuous improvement of operations.
