Job Posting: ETHICS PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Summary

You will serve as an Ethics Program Specialist with primary responsibility for developing and managing a comprehensive ethics and standards of conduct program including reviewing ethics documents and requests and serving as an information resource.

Duties

• Provide advice to institute managers and NIH programs by researching situations on conflict of interest concerning international research and collaborative endeavors with private industry and the disposal of financial holdings.
• Manage all aspects of public and confidential financial disclosures, including coordinating the annual notification of employees concerning reporting procedures, and reviewing the forms for compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of ethics training activities, including the design of curricula incorporating controversial issues and specific case law that has impacted policy decisions.
• Conduct of reviews of institute ethics programs to evaluate effectiveness and adherence to statutes, regulations, and HHS and NIH policies.
• Provide advice to the institute on matters covered by the Ethics in Government Act, the Federal Criminal Conflict of Interest Statutes, the Procurement Integrity Act, political activity restrictions in the Hatch Act, and related rules.
