Summary

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering is hiring a Supervisory Electronics Engineer. This position is located in the Trans-NIH Instrumentation Development and Engineering Application Solutions (IDEAS) Shared Resource, Intramural Research Program (IRP), National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB).

Duties

Provides overall leadership and direction of pioneering research, investigation, design, development, testing, evaluation, deployment, and support of major advances in signal transduction, data acquisition, real-time signal and image processing, and robotic control systems technology, with an emphasis on the conceptual design and development of highly sophisticated, state-of-the-art instrumentation and analysis systems that provide the biomedical research community with new and previously unavailable capabilities. Serves as senior engineer/investigator in the research, design, and development of new signal transduction, data acquisition, real-time signal and image processing, robotic control, and analysis systems to enable the solution of research problems that frequently result in significant advances in the biomedical science field. Serves as the focal point for consultation and collaboration on the application of biomedical instrumentation, signal processing, and related technologies to the clinical and biomedical research field. Manages a major scientific program that provides highly specialized engineering resources and expertise to the research community. Formulates, defines, and implements long and short-range goals, objectives, requirements, plans, and priorities for the program, ensuring consistency with those of the Division and Center.
