The Office of Innovation and Information Technology (OIIT) leads the management and development of information technology at the NIH by providing secure, well-managed operations and solutions for the 30 Divisions and 2500+ users. In this role, you will provide technical and administrative support for the local area network and data communication systems and networks.

Duties

  • Serves as a technical expert in reviewing and implementing the ongoing network operations of network target architecture.
  • Participates in projects involving the application of digital communications techniques and common LAN technology, including base band and broadband media, switches, bridges and routers, media access protocols, and interfacing techniques.
  • Evaluates service-level agreements (SLAs) and quality performance measures (QPMs) annually and on an as needed basis to assess on-going applicability.
  • Serves as a technical liaison to other groups, ensuring effective communication of the organization’s capabilities, plans and needs.
  • Oversees IT and contractors’ responses to security audits and their corrective actions plans in order to meet HHS standards.
