Duties

As a GS-2010- 9-11-12 Inventory Management Specialist, your duties may include but are not limited to the following: Plans, develops, and coordinates the logistical actions required to support the NIH biomedical research community. Establishes and monitors milestones for carrying out emergency planning and other actions required to ensure that researchers have available all supplies, equipment, and services needed at the right time and right place to complete research projects. Plans and coordinates future requirements (quantitative and monetary) for a broad range of supplies, equipment, and services required to support the NIH mission. Plans, organizes, and conducts surveys related to all elements of supply and property management. Studies and analyzes the purchasing trends of materiel and life-cycle of equipment. Ensures all acquisition and management of equipment are in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Develops proposals, schedules, and participates in the technical evaluation panels for contracts, as required. Responsible for the integrated management and control of assigned items of materials. The incumbent will be under closer supervision and will receive more detailed instructions at the GS-09 and GS-11 levels. As the incumbent progresses, the amount of supervision will gradually be reduced. This position has a full performance level of GS-12.
