Summary

The Radiology Department is currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to add to their team. As a Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT technical specialist, the incumbent implements, uses, and improves as necessary computer-based quality control procedures to ensure proper operation of the Department's PET and gamma cameras. Duties

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, your typical work assignments may include: Performing advanced Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging procedures using a wide variety of gamma and positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals to study organ perfusion, metabolism, receptor function, tumor distribution, etc., in Clinical Center patients. Drawing, calibrating and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients; positioning and monitoring subjects to obtain accurate scans. Recognizing errors or technical abnormalities in images, and radioactivity measurements, and takes action to correct equipment or software malfunction at the direction of the department physicist. Participating in the execution of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT clinical and research projects in patients under the direction of staff physicians. Operating computer software on multiple Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT scanner/computer systems.
