Summary

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to provide expert analysis and strategic advice on business operations, grants administration, and organizational processes. The incumbent evaluates business practices and operational performance to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with NIH and federal policies while supporting leadership in managing a nationally recognized biomedical research portfolio.

Duties

Serve as a senior advisor on business operations, organizational management, and administrative processes, providing expert analysis and recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and program performance. Analyze organizational structures, business processes, operational workflows, and management systems to identify improvement opportunities and develop solutions that strengthen internal controls, governance, and resource utilization. Prepare executive briefings, analytical reports, issue papers, and recommendations for senior leadership on organizational performance, operational risks, and strategic initiatives. Lead the coordination of Requests for Information (RFIs), external communications, webinars, and other outreach activities related to business operations and grants administration. Manage and maintain organizational business resources, policies, procedures, and guidance to ensure information is accurate, current, and accessible. Analyze grants and financial assistance programs to evaluate business operations, organizational performance, compliance, and operational risks, recommending improvements that enhance accountability and program outcomes. Coordinate with program, grants management, financial, legal, and other stakeholders to resolve complex business and grants administration issues. Develop and deliver training, guidance, technical assistance, and educational materials for applicants, recipients, and internal stakeholders on business operations and grants administration. Lead or participate in program evaluations, organizational assessments, and special studies using qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to improve business operations and organizational performance. Prepare executive-level briefing materials, reports, presentations, and communications supporting senior leadership and advisory council activities. Represent the organization on internal and external workgroups, committees, and interagency initiatives involving business operations, organizational management, grants administration, and program improvement.
