Summary
This position is located within the Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch (PECRB), a program focused on advancing the understanding of type 2 diabetes and obesity. The incumbent will serve as a Physician (Clinical) in the Obesity and Diabetes Clinical Research Section (ODCRS) of the Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch (PECRB) of NIDDK, providing services to participants in research studies in conformity with the NIH Institutional Review Board.
Duties
- Serve as a principle and/or co-investigator on research projects of broad and complex scope.
- Collaborate with the Section Chief and Branch Chief in expanding clinical protocols.
- Provide specialized medical expertise in clinical research.
- Analyze, evaluate and interpret scientific and clinical data in order to prepare papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at seminars and scientific meetings.
- Provide directions and recommendations for the establishment, revision or reevaluation of the goals and objectives of research programs.
- Serve as medical liaison between the Institute/Center and research working groups and committees and between own organization and other NIH programs.
