Duties

As a Nurse (Research Specialist) your duties will include but, are not limited to the following: Perform clinical trials duties in accordance with standards of nursing practice and the Code of Ethics and maintain awareness of what constitutes falsification of data or other research misconduct. Coordinate and implement clinical research protocols. Educate and counsel patients participating in clinical trials. Work closely with a diverse team of health care providers to provide patient care and conduct clinical research. Facilitate patient recruitment and enrollment into on-going clinical trials. Ensure compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements. Manage clinical research data and provide data quality assurance. Assist in developing clinical research and protocol-specific standards of practice (SOP). Develop, implement, and assess process improvement strategies for compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs. If you are selected at the GS-11 level, you will essentially perform the same duties at the full performance level (GS-12) described above, however, duties will be less complex, and will be performed under closer supervision, with more detailed guidance.
