Summary

This position is located in the Division of International Relations (DIR) at the Fogarty International Center (FIC). The International Health Program Officer is responsible for all administrative, management, and policy development activities related to the implementation and coordination of NIH supported biomedical research programs all over the world.

Duties

  • Formulates policy positions on collaborative activities.
  • Fosters bilateral and regional relationships through consultation with health officials and scientists in geographic area of responsibility.
  • Develops and negotiates bilateral and regional agreements for biomedical research programs; fosters, facilitates and coordinates NIH participation under such agreements; oversees NIH activities to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains liaison with DHHS and other US government agencies.
  • Represents NIH on international delegations, committees and working groups.
