Summary

These positions are located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), within multiple Institutes/Centers. Join one of the 27 Institutes and Centers within the NIH. As a Supervisory Data Scientist you will serve or senior advisor to Leadership in managing, supervising, and overseeing analytical and business solutions programs to support data-driven decision making.

Duties

  • Direct and oversee the OPAE staff in planning and executing programs related to data and portfolio analyses and workforce planning.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to the Executive Officer and senior staff on data science, analysis, and modeling techniques for budget, workforce, and scientific portfolio evaluation.
  • Develop and implement data-driven methodologies for budget forecasting, workforce analysis, and scientific portfolio evaluation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve analytical methodologies and communicate results effectively.
  • Oversee the development of analytical models and methodologies for evaluating different programmatic options and outcomes.
  • Ensure data validity and integrity, including data cleansing, variable assessment, and appropriate use in analytical projects.
  • Provide expert analysis and advice on long-term resource needs and future program requirements based on complex data modeling.
